The Evomed protection items are product  with an innovative micro-spun fabric, made up of thousands of fibres laid one against the other, so as to form an efficient barrier against bed bugs, dust mites and their allergens. Medical quality covers, not laminated ( no plastic ) and free of chemical treatments. The chemically-free manufacturing process makes textile pore size of 0,5 microns possible.

Consequently, the bedcovers in Evomed constitutes the most efficient barrier against bed bugs, dust mites and allergens ( dust mite allergens are about 10 microns ). Evomed also prevents the growth of fungi.

Evomed's fabric Evolon has been granted the Oeko-Tex mark (standard 100, product class 1), which certifies it is free of harmful substances and suitable for contact with baby skin.

One square metre of fabric encloses fibres 10,000 km long, making up a total surface area of 90 square metres, and weighs just 100 grams ! The exclusive production process uses polyester (%70) and polyamide (%30) fibres that are reduced to the status of microfilaments ten times finer than traditional micro fibres, and one hundred times thinner than a human hair! As well as then being stretched and criss-crossed, these micro fibres are specifically treated to form an extremely tight, resistant fabric.

Air flows freely through the fibres, hence the Evomed range of products is extremely breathable, offering excellent levels of comfort. The material has been tested by the Hohenstein Research Institute in terms of its capacity to breath, allow moisture vapour to transpire and, in particular with regards its efficiency in blocking dust mites and their allergens. The results of these tests have confirmed the suitability of this fabric for use in anti-allergic coverings.

When the fabrics are washed, the fibres regenerate and become thicker, and the thicker the weave of the fabric, the greater the anti-allergic protection offered. Differently from natural fibres, the Evomed micro fibers do not expand when wet, but are yet more breathable, as such, the covers all dry very quickly once washed.

The beautifully soft feel to Evomed only increases with washing, and can be felt even more so after use. Even upon a very first contact with the skin, Evomed is extremely difficult to distinguish from traditional bed linen!

Another extremely important factor for those suffering from allergies, is that Evomed is completely free of chemical substances, hence the fabric Evolon has managed to satisfy Eco-Tex-Standard 100 class 1 requirements. Evomed can be machine washed at 95°C with a delicate detergent. It requires neither bleaching, nor ironing! They are washable in sterilizer (95°C) in a hospital environment.

The quality material is the result of careful manufacture, making Evomed products the perfect bed linen.

The necessary joins between one fibre and another means an inevitable presence of knots within the fabric.

Careful stitching isolates each seam, so as to avoid allergenic agents passing through these points.

The openings for the pillow slips and duvet covers are fitted with overlapping fabric tapes that envelop their contents, keeping dust mites, bed bugs and allergens out.

The use of Evomed mattress covers, pillow slips and duvet covers, significantly reduces the potential of allergic agents, as stated by known tables of reference.

As hotel beds are not always free from dust mites and bed bugs, Evomed is the perfect travel bed linen for those suffering from allergies.

Weighing just 100 grams per square metre, the Evomed mattress cover and duvet/blanket cover are extremely light (less than 1 kilogram for the mattress cover + duvet cover set) and easy to fold.

Although Evomed is efficient against dust mites and bed bugs, even where used on older mattresses, should an allergy arise, we advise changing the mattress and other bed linen used.
